In most yoga practices , even when not necessarily called for , it is useful to have some basic tools for postures that you may struggle with at the start , or if you are injured, stiff  or simply not motivated.

A sturdy fold away chair  , for twists  and supports for back bends and shoulder stands

A yoga belt , to deepen and lengthen

A blanket for neck support and comfort

4 blocks , standing postures when it’s difficult to forward or side bend and bridges

Bolster, in supine poses to support the back and open the chest

A quality yoga mat, this is your friend

Wall, to define certain postures and stop you falling over

A clock, to time your practice

I have prepared a 10 week base practice that I will post week by week . Their are dynamic and resting  postures , on alternate days . It is a daily practice over a month , which should make it a habit .

This is only a guide and does not substitute for a teacher and a class . If you have never done yoga before it is important to seek advice from a qualified person and use this only as a guide once you learn the basics.
